S. Sugirtha, final year Microbiology student of Valliammal College for Women in Anna Nagar East, Chennai is a Wushu  Kung Fu champion. She has won several medals, mementos, certificates and trophies.

S.Sugirtha had participated in the 2012 National WU-SHU Kung -Fu Festival and Championship and emerged victorious. The championship was held at Wadya Park, Swastik  Chawk, Ahmednagar on 5th and 6th May, 2012. The event was hosted by the Black king Cobra Chinese KungFu Karate Association, organized by Maharashtra Wu-Shu Kung Fu Association and Sanctioned by the Wu-Shu Kung-Fu Federation of India  (  Member : world Traditional Kung-Fu Federation ). The  Competitions were in traditional Kung-Fu, Contemporary Wushu, Internal arts and Fighting divisions.

S.Sugirtha secured first place in Nandao and Nangun and second place in Nanquan.  She is trained in Wuhsu  Kung Fu by South Indian Great Master Thandapani.  S.Sugirtha, speaking in an exclusive interview with Chennai Plus reporter Elwyn, stated that her dad Mr.M.Sundar,  Sub-Inspector of Police attached to Thiruvottiyur Police Station is her role model.
My dad is a very sincere policeman and is my first impression, she adds. Sugirtha’s mother Mrs S.Kaladevi is her personal advisor.  Besides an expert in Wushu Kung Fu, Sugirtha is a State Basketball and Chess player. She also teaches classical dance.
Sugirtha has brought name and fame to her college by winning the Wushu Kung Fu championship. Her ambition in life is to become an IPS officer. She also thanked to  Wu-Shu Kung-Fu Federation of India to host a beautiful event , she never seen before.
